Orthogonal imagery provides a true top-down view and is rectified to align to a map grid. This means that you have the ability to interact with the image to measure and extract data. Each pixel is georeferenced resulting in intelligent images that are actionable. Images are captured from north, south, east and west directions to provide a 360-degree view of every property and parcel. Oblique imagery is imagery captured at an angle to provide a more natural perspective, making objects easier to recognize and interpret. The photos are also available for purchase for an entire local unit or the entire County in a MrSID format. For digital copies (.tiff), the photos will be available on a per tile basis, with images priced at $15.00 per tile. The 2014 imagery features two different pixel resolutions, a 3-inch pixel resolution (4-inch post processed) for most urban areas, and a 9-inch pixel resolution for the entire county. The imagery capture occurred over several days during April and May of 2014. ![]() ![]() In a collaborative effort with Kent, Muskegon, & Montcalm Counties, the Ottawa County GIS Team obtained the standard *orthogonal imagery, along with *oblique imagery, from Pictometry.
